DYEING THE SIAMESE KITTY BANDANA

We are using madder root and a little tannic acid from chestnuts to dye our Siamese Kitty bandanas. Unlike our Multifunction Scarves, which take three days to mordant and overnight to dye. The bandanas soak in an alum mordant overnight and get a quick dip in our dye pot.

Like, super quick, no more then 3 minutes. We like that they are just a little pink and we closely watch each one while they are in the dye pot so the printed colors are still vibrant though our over dye. 

Madder root provides us the perfect pink. We have in other projects however, altered the madder color with pH. Hello soft grey using iron!
